A new video launched by the Tavoyan Women’s Union (TWU) exposes how the Thai and Burmese developers of the Dawei deep sea port project are abusing local villagers’ rights. They are calling for an immediate suspension of the project.

One of the villagers interviewed by TWU:

“The authorities came to our houses and told us that the village of Mudu had to move. They said we were lucky to be moving. They don’t know how poor the villagers are. They just think of their own benefit. I’m not afraid. Let them arrest me if they want to. What they are doing is completely wrong”.
