1. The Palaung State Liberation Front’s (PSLF/TNLA) Central Committee (CC) 6- monthly meeting was held for four days, from July 27 to 30. The CC meeting was successfully held and attended by a total of 45 officials, consisting of the central committee and the central candidate committee members, heads of the work departments, officers of the Ta’ang Army and the district administrative officers. The performance of work in the past 6 months of 2017 was reviewed, and the necessary future work programs were laid down.

2. After reviewing the current political and military situations of Myanmar, in order to hold meeting with the Myanmar government, the CC members reaffirmed their commitment to firmly abide by the position of the Federal Political Negotiation and Consultative Committee (FPNCC), formed by the Northern Ethnic Armed Resistance Organizations (NEARO).

3. The meeting condemned the chauvinist militarist act of the Myanmar Tatmadaw, which has been using various means of attack to intensify the fire of civil war and targeting the civilian populations, subsequent to the Second Meeting of the Union Peace Conference (21st Century Pinlong). The country is headed toward endless civil war by the barbarous and aggressive acts of the Tatmadaw.

4. The current government headed by the National League for Democracy (NLD) should undertake the responsibly for stopping the Myanmar Tatmadaw’s military offensives and for real political change. The Central Committee meeting is of the view that the Myanmar government, in full cooperation with the ethnic nationalities and the people, should courageously handle and correctly resolve the political problems, after a review of the programs for peace and national reconciliation.

5. The Palaung State Liberation Front (PSLF/TNLA) Central Committee 6-monthly meeting’s position is issued to affirm that whatever the intensity and difficulty of the various military pressures and political limitations made by Myanmar Tatmadaw, the Palaung State Liberation Front (PSLF/TNLA) will make the effort always, hand in hand together with the people in the Ta’ang State, until the political goal of the Ta’ang nationality is reached.
