Three mortar shells fired by Burmese army troops from Mongkoe side of the border landed on Man Hai, a Chinese town across the border, on Tuesday at around 2 a.m., said a Mongkoe source. The Burmese army troops resumed heavy mortar shelling at 7:00 a.m.; it is reported some shells landed on Quarter 3 in Man Pyin village and two other such shells landed on the Chinese side of the border.

On the same day at 2:00 p.m. in northern Shan State, KIA’s 9th Battalion under 4th Brigade fought with Burmese army troops being transported in vehicles en route to 105th Mile at Nam Tun, situated between Nam Gut and Hu Nawng villages on Lashio-Muse road. The two sides encountered again at 3:30 p.m. in Yung Ngaw Htamlamun.

On December 5 in Mungkoe, Burmese army troops were seen ransacking homes and pillaging civilians’ properties. Furthermore, on December 6 from 9:00 a.m., Burmese army troops began torching civilian homes in Hpau Jung Pa quarter, a Mongkoe resident told KLN.

In Kachin State, Burmese army troops stationed at Nhkram shelled KIA’s Gidon post manned by 252nd Mobile Battalion troops with anti-aircraft guns, machine guns, and 18 rounds of heavy mortars on December 6 between 8:30 p.m. – 9:10 p.m., a KIA frontline source reported.

The KLN has also learnt that fighting broke out at 1:50 p.m. on December 7, between KIA’s 5th Battalion under 8th Brigade and Burmese troops belonging to 228th Light Infantry Battalion at Da Wai village in southern Kachin State.

Meanwhile, battles continue to rage between KIA’s allied TNLA and Burmese army troops in Nam Sam, Nam Kham and Manton Township. TNLA’s 434th Battalion troops fought Burmese army’s 115th Light Infantry Regiment troops near Man Mai village in Nam Sam Township on December 7 at 6:30 am.

On December 6 between 9:00 p.m. – 9:17 p.m., TNLA troops from 112th Battalion reportedly carried out an attack on Burmese army’s base at Tsahkantit Kone in Nam Kham Township.

TNLA Information Department reported that Burmese fighter jets fired rockets and dropped bombs on eight locations in Nam Hai area in Manton Township on December 6 between 3:00 p.m. and 4 p.m. Nam Hai, Seti Taung, Tarlet, Nam Yi, Maw Bo and Maw Tauq village were struck by airstrikes.
