Announcement by the Worldwide Impact Now (WIN) | May 23, 2016

New deadline for submissions is midnight 7 September 2016

Burma Truth on-line festival and competition was established for the purpose of giving “visual voice” to the ethnic minorities of Burma. It is further intended to serve the international community by capturing creative and compelling images and perspectives of reality for ethnics inside Burma past and present.

Ethnics have been greatly disadvantaged by those in power in Burma, as well as by those in the international community who support them. There are differing viewpoints on this matter that need to be brought to light.

This festival-competition is intended to give activists, artists and interested persons the opportunity to openly express themselves through visual media:

  • Videos (Music videos and productions up to 10, 30 and 60 minutes)
  • Cartoons
  • Graffiti
  • Posters
  • Photos / Graphics

We are glad for old film and art products from the past, as well as new creations.

We will use on-line voting to decide on winners in each category. Final on-line voting takes place between 8-14 September.

The products of top winners in each category will be sown 28 September 2016 at Westcliffe Center for the Performing Arts, Westcliffe, Colorado.

Use the festival’s website at www.burmatruth.com to register and submit your products. This is open to all and is a no-fee competition run by unsalaried volunteers.
