Burma Link | December 19, 2015

On Wednesday December 16th, Burma Link organised a soft launch for the book “Lives on the Line: Voices for Change from the Thailand-Burma Border” in Mae Sot, Thailand.

The event featured three special guest speakers who had shared their stories for the book; Karen Major General Nerdah Bo Mya, former teenage political prisoner Soe Lwin, and Eastern Naga leader and vice chairman of the Naga National Council W. Shapwon. Soe Win Kyaw, a jungle medic and Director of Back Pack Health Worker Team also joined the occasion as a special guest.

Guests who attended the launch had a unique opportunity to get their books personally signed by the special guests. There was a limited edition of 100 books printed for the occasion, which sold out.

More “Lives on the Line” books, including an e-book, will be available for purchase after the hard launch.

We would like to thank all the volunteers and guests for making the event such a success!

Lives on the Line is a collection of the most inspiring, haunting, and incredible life stories that Burma Link has had the privilege to document and transform into written narratives. These are stories that have emerged from decades of oppression and are of those who stand for peace and of those who desire change for their homeland. They will take you through unbelievable experiences full of adventure, danger, and loss, but also an unwavering spirit of resilience and incredible hope and dreams. These are Burma’s Voices for Change.

Funds for publishing this book were raised through a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo.
