Burmese Soldiers Burned down Rice Barns and Killed Ta-Ang Villagers

On December 5 morning, Burmese soldiers torched civilians’ homes in the town of Mongkoe, controlled by KIA’s 36th Battalion under 6th Brigade. Sources from Hpau Jung Pa village have reported Burmese soldiers also burned down and destroyed rice barns. Clashes continue between the Northern Allied Forces and the Burmese army in the vicinity of Mongkoe.

On December 4 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m, Mr.Aik Sam’s house in a Palawng village called Nam Ha from Man Jak township was burnt down to the ground by Burmese helicopter’s fires. It is reported three people were killed and seven others injured.

Mr.Aik Sam and Ms.Ei Lau, both sixty years old, died on the spot from helicopter attacks while splitting bamboo at their residence. Furthermore, a teenage boy also named Aik Sam was hit by a bomb and reported dead while attempting to catch a glimpse of the approaching helicopter. Six adult villagers and a child were wounded, according to a frontline source. Meanwhile, clashes have temporarily ceased in areas controlled by KIA’s 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th and 8th Brigades.
