Stories have the power to create change… and in Burma, change is desperately needed.

The people of Burma deserve to know the truth about the conflict that has plagued the country for over 60 years. And who else should tell them except the people who have experienced it first-hand?

In Burma, millions of people have fled conflict and abuse. The result has left over 110,000 refugees residing in the Thailand-Burma border camps, worried about returning to their homeland. Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of others reside in Thailand outside the camps with no protection. Over the years, the border has also become a vibrant hub for Burma’s opposition and capacity building movement.

Each of the refugees and exiles on the Thailand-Burma border carries his/her own unique story. So many of these stories are told through voices of spirit and resilience.  And so many more are stories of incredible hope and incredible dreams.  These are stories that have emerged from decades of oppression and are of those who stand for peace and of those who desire change for their homeland.

Our hope is to publish a book of these stories inside Burma. To drive change, the people of Burma must be aware of the situation and be moved to take action. This books aims to do just that.

Burma Link has already completed most of the work, but we just need that little bit extra to share these inspiring stories all over Burma. With your help, this book will be available in bookshops across Burma by October 2015.
