Burma Link is looking for volunteers to join our team! Two positions are currently open for suitable candidates to start in April or May.

1. International Research Intern

The intern will continuously research new developments, news and publications by Burma Link’s partners and other relevant media and organisations. The intern will conduct systematic media monitoring of Burma Link’s focus areas and produce monthly situation updates based on current developments. The intern is expected to read a significant amount of reports and other publications to develop an understanding of the situation inside Burma and on the Thailand-Burma border, particularly with regard to Burma’s ethnic nationalities and displaced persons along the border. The intern will assist with transcribing, writing/editing stories and articles for publication, and producing monthly newsletters. The intern will edit Burmese-English language translations and update Burma Link’s website with new publications and posts. Other tasks depend on the intern’s previous experience and skills but will include various administrative tasks.

2. International Research Intern with a Specialisation in Video and Visual Media

The intern will continuously research new developments, news and publications by Burma Link’s partners and other relevant media and organisations. The intern is expected to read a significant amount of reports and other publications to develop an understanding of the situation inside Burma and on the Thailand-Burma border, particularly with regards to Burma’s ethnic nationalities and displaced people on both sides of the border. The internship will especially focus on using visual skills for various media purposes, especially editing video material. The intern will also update Burma Link’s website with new publications and posts and assist with various administrative tasks. Other tasks may include interviewing, and writing/editing stories and articles for publication.
